Unix/Linux Support Engineer

Department: IT / Technical Support - Location: Edmonton , Alberta, Canada

Duties

• Provide web based, email and phone support for OS and software issues
• Perform scheduled tasks and regular server administration tasks
• Report software problems to appropriate departments
• Handle emergency interventions
• Provide consulting services to company clients

Knowledge

• Excellent Linux operating systems knowledge (Redhat, Centos)
• Excellent Open Source software knowledge
• Excellent script languages knowledge
• Good understanding of networking protocols
• Good SQL language knowledge
• Certifications are considered a PLUS
